Job Title: Batch Operator - $20/HR - 2nd / 3rd Shift

Job Description

This is a hybrid role between a chemical mixer and a bulk loader. The primary responsibilities include safely and efficiently driving a yard switcher and loading finished goods and raw materials into bulk tank wagons. This role requires weighing tankers in and out on the company scale and ensuring all paperwork matches the assigned tanker and materials. The driver will properly stage the tanker and ensure all connections from the storage tank or blend vessel to the tanker are inspected and connected before loading materials. Strong communication skills are essential to report any issues or delays to shift supervisors or managers. Additional duties include moving trailers on site to support production and transferring drum trailers from the dock to the yard and vice versa as needed.

Responsibilities

• Load finished goods and raw materials into bulk tank wagons.
• Weigh tankers in and out, ensuring all paperwork matches the tanker and materials.
• Properly stage the tanker and inspect and connect all related connections.
• Report any issues or delays to shift supervisors or managers.
• Move trailers on site to support production.
• Transfer drum trailers from the dock to the yard and vice versa.

Essential Skills

• Ability to move drums up to 500 pounds with a forklift in a safe manner.
• Forklift Certification from previous jobs.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Capability to stand for long periods and walk great distances daily.
• Ability to work in small spaces and high locations.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift bags and containers up to 50 pounds safely.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Chemical knowledge.
• Chemical operator experience.

Work Environment

The work environment can be cold in the winter due to open doors and hot in the summer. It is a dirty environment, but teamwork is encouraged, though operators often work independently.

This is a Contract position based out of Detroit, MI.

The pay range for this position is $20.81 - $20.81/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Detroit,MI.
