Position Summary:
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Vice President of Accounting and Finance with proven experience and leadership in all accounting and financial functions of the organization. As the senior-most accounting and finance leader, this role is responsible for setting the company’s financial strategy, ensuring financial health, and serving as a key advisor to the executive team.
The Vice President of Accounting and Finance will oversee accounting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), treasury, and compliance, while driving long-term growth, profitability, and operational efficiency. This individual will translate financial data into actionable insights, guide business decisions across all departments, and build scalable processes and systems to support the company’s continued growth.
This role requires a proactive and collaborative leader who can operate both strategically and tactically—owning the company’s financial roadmap while developing a high-performing team and modernizing financial operations through technology.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a strategic partner to the President on growth, , pricing, financial strategy, planning, and business performance,
Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, costing and inventory accounting.
Lead financial planning and analysis, including annual budgeting, forecasting, scenario modeling, and long-range planning.
Provide clear, actionable financial insights to drive decision-making across operations, sales, marketing, and hospitality.
Manage cash flow, liquidity planning, and capital allocation to support business priorities.
Establish and maintain strong internal controls, risk management practices, and financial governance.
Oversee timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
Lead and manage external relationships, including auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial regulations, including industry-specific requirements (e.g., TTB).
Analyze and optimize cost structures, including wine production, vineyard operations, and DTC/wholesale channel profitability.
Drive the evaluation and implementation of financial systems and technology to improve reporting, forecasting, and operational efficiency.
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team.
Support potential financing activities, capital planning, or strategic initiatives (e.g., expansion, acquisitions, new channels).
Partner cross-functionally to align financial goals with operational execution.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA strongly preferred).
10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership at the Controller, Director, or VP level.
Experience in the wine industry, CPG, or manufacturing, or inventory-intensive environments environment strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of GAAP accounting, financial strategy, cash flow management, and business performance drivers.
Proven ability to influence executive decision-making and operate as a strategic business partner.
Proficiency in accounting software systems, Business Central experience preferred. Experience with Warehouse Management Systems also desired.
Familiarity with industry software (Innovint, ShipCompliant)
Deep expertise in inventory accounting, cost of goods sold (COGS), and margin analysis.
Knowledge of TTB compliance and reporting. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
