Description:
HCA Healthcare, through its revenue cycle management division Parallon, is seeking a Scheduling Assistant to support patient scheduling and administrative coordination services. This role is part of a large healthcare network dedicated to improving patient access, care coordination, and operational efficiency.

The Scheduling Assistant will primarily handle inbound and outbound communication related to patient testing, procedures, admissions, and medical scheduling requests. This is a high-volume, phone-intensive role requiring strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive patient information accurately.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Receiving and managing incoming calls related to patient scheduling and medical services
  • Collecting and verifying accurate patient demographic and contact information
  • Indexing physician orders into scheduling and order management systems
  • Coordinating follow-ups with physicians and internal teams for order clarification or resolution
  • Performing outbound calls, emails, and fax communications to obtain missing information
  • Reviewing physician orders for accuracy and completeness before processing
  • Escalating unresolved issues to appropriate departments or management when necessary
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of all interactions and updates
  • Ensuring high-quality customer service and professional communication at all times
  • Spending the majority of the workday handling phone-based interactions

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a call center environment preferred
  • Experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
  • Ability to work with multiple computer systems and online applications simultaneously
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to handle high call volume and maintain professionalism under pressure
  • High-speed internet required for remote work (minimum 25 Mbps download / 6 Mbps upload)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in patient data handling
