Equity Analyst (Portfolio Manager)

Hudson Valley Investment Advisors, is seeking a Portfolio Manager (Equity Analyst).  The function of the Portfolio Manager (Equity Analyst) is to execute all aspects of portfolio management, designing, building and maintaining portfolios to meet client objectives.

Essential tasks and Job Responsibilities:

»Responsible to manage client relationships and portfolios

»Active member of Investment Policy Committee

»Perform Investment Portfolio Reviews – To ascertain asset allocations & Securities are in line with objectives and HVIA investment policy

»Understand and be able to communicate the current positioning of all firm strategies, resent changes to holdings or sectors and investment results relative to client objectives.

»Responsible for Business Development

»Maintain and enhance investment expertise through continuing education and development.

»Work independently



OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

»Confidentiality- business is built on client confidentiality and trust.

»Mental Application – Needs to constantly looking at upside and downside risks that effect client portfolios.  Position requires capability to absorb large amounts of information and be able to communicate opinions to Investment Policy Committee and clients and develop strategies to mitigate risk in client portfolios.

»Responsibilities – One bad decision can have long term effects on firm reputation and client satisfaction.

»Position requires regular communication with management, personnel and clients

»Position is authorized to pay for miscellaneous expenses as relate to the everyday management of client relationships

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, practice:

Required:  Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred:  Higher Degree/Certification

Required:  3-5 years of practice in the financial industry

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

»Working Conditions - Job requires both office and travel to meet with clients.

»Equipment Operations – must be proficient in all aspects of technology.
