We are seeking a passionate, friendly and knowledgeable individual to join our team as a Handcart’s Garden Center Employee. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, assisting customers with their gardening needs and contributing to the overall success of our exclusive garden center.
Responsibilities:
1. Customer Assistance: Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with inquiries, product selection, and gardening advice.
2. Product Knowledge: Maintain a thorough understanding of all products available in the garden center, including plants, tools, soil, fertilizers, and outdoor décor.
3. Merchandising: Ensure that products are well-organized, properly labeled, and visually appealing to customers. Restock shelves and displays as needed.
4. Plant Care: Assist with the care and maintenance of plants, including watering, pruning, and pest control.
5. Cashier Duties: Operate cash registers and process transactions accurately and efficiently.
6. General Maintenance: Keep the garden center clean and orderly, including sweeping, dusting, and organizing inventory.
7. Inventory Management: Assist with inventory counts, receiving shipments, and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
8. Promotions and Events: Participate in promotional events and workshops to educate customers and promote sales.
9. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for both employees and customers.
10. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members to achieve sales targets and maintain high standards of customer service.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in retail, customer service, or gardening is preferred but not required.
- Passion for gardening and a desire to learn about plants and gardening techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact positively with customers and team members.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Flexibility to work Saturdays and holidays as needed.
- Physical stamina to lift and carry heavy objects and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
