Opportunity to join a well-known, leading arts institution non-profit (that is run commercially) in the media/ arts space. Committed to delivering innovative, cutting edge, and thought provoking programs. The organization is looking to appoint a COO to oversee and drive operational excellence, striving to maintain efficient operations and high standards in their space. Candidates must be able to work on-site at the Midtown, Manhattan, NYC office daily.

Job Description

As Chief Operating Officer (COO) varied responsibilities include:

  • Work closely and collaboratively with the CEO and executive team to drive business efficiency, smooth operations and operational improvements.
  • Lead and manage event operations, special projects and ongoing organization activities to ensure efficiency across departments and teams.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans in alignment with the organization's goals.
  • Oversee budgets, planning, resource allocation and key performance metrics to optimize performance.
  • Identify and address operational gaps/ challenges, providing effective solutions.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and excellence within the organization.
  • Monitor industry trends to ensure the organization remains competitive and cutting edge in their programs and activities.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Chief Operating Officer (COO) will bring:

  • Proven experience as Chief Operating Officer/ Head of Operations, highly skilled in operational management, preferably within the arts/ media/ non-profit environment.
  • Strong project management, planning strategic operations skills.
  • Skilled in budgeting, financial analysis and monitoring key performance indicators.
  • Highly collaborative, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A hands-on, results-driven, "can do" mindset with a focus on driving efficiency, smooth operations and innovation.
  • Candidates must be based in New York/ Tri-State area and able to work in the Midtown, NYC office daily.
  • Candidates must have the right to work in the US now and indefinitely, the client is unable to provide work sponsorship at this time.
