Job Title: 2nd Shift Supervisor

Location: Hazlehurst, GA

Pay Rate: $16-$18 Flexible based on Experience

Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 5:00PM to 6:00AM (7 days a week during peak seasons)

Overtime may be mandatory when required and schedules may change during busy or peak seasons.

Will train on First shift for the first few months prior to peak season

Job Summary:  

 

The Department Supervisor will oversee and manage production shift employees and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and quantity standards. 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities  

 

  • Trains and manages production employees on the assigned shift. 
  • Oversees the daily workflow and assignments of the production shift. 
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities:  

 

  • Oversees production operations on assigned shift. 
  • Prepares work schedules to ensure efficient operations. 
  • Maintains knowledge of processes and equipment. 
  • Ensures that products are identified and weighted for the packing department. 
  • Troubleshoots issues that arise. 
  • Notifies maintenance department of equipment problems. 
  • Ensures that employees comply with applicable safety regulations, policies and procedures. 
  • Ensures paperwork is completed and signed correctly. 
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area and department. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 
  • Will spend 90% of time on the production floor and 10% in office completing necessary reports and spreadsheets.
  • Establish expansion rates per size and lot numbers. 
  • Figure mix ratios for required expansion rates. 
  • Figure mix formulas. 
  • Upload when completed and deliver to required machines. 
  • Be available for extended hours to operate the mix line to complete production requirements. 
  • Troubleshoot instances of material malfunctions, interruptions, and failures. 
  • Monitor and adhere to Safety Standards and Procedures. 
  • Monitor and record plant conditions and bring deviations or malfunctions to the attention of the Mix Department Supervisor. 
  • Prior to startup of any plant equipment, inspect and confirm suitability to return to normal service. 
  • Carry out regular equipment inspections. 
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area. 
  • Carry out emergency duties as required by the Supervisor 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production operations and machinery. 
  • Excellent supervisory and leadership skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. 
  • Ability to follow directions and work well in a team. 
  • Must be computer knowledgeable.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete reports and logs. 
  • Ability to follow directions and work well in a team. 
  • Ability to assess products for quality compliance. 
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn mix line equipment and the production process. 
  • Must to able to read and write and interpret and translate production processes. 
  • Ability to work at a fast pace. 

 

Education and Experience  

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. 
  • Prior exceptional work experience with the company preferred. 
  •  

Physical Requirements  

 

  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends during production season. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to traverse the production facility. 
  • Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools and performing repetitive actions. 
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry objects. 
  • Visual acuity to read instructions and operate mix line equipment.
